Susannah Solt, founder
Susannah has more than 25 years’ experience in musculo-skeletal physiotherapy and has worked in both the NHS and private practice. She is passionate about her profession, and keeps up-to-date with regular training.
Additionally qualified as a SIRPA practitioner, she draws on a modern, evidence-based, mind-body approach to persistent pain and other chronic symptoms. The SIRPA model understands that chronic pain and long-term symptoms often arise not simply from structural damage, but from sensitised neural circuits, learned protective responses, stress, emotions or prior trauma. Rather than just managing symptoms, SIRPA supports clients to identify root causes, re-train neural pathways, and recover function and quality of life.
She has also trained in Somatic Experiencing (SE) — a body-centred therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Peter Levine that helps the nervous system recover from shock, trauma or chronic dysregulation. SE works gently with internal bodily sensations (interoception), movement sense (proprioception / kinesthesia) and the nervous system’s capacity to self-regulate. This approach offers a safe and gradual way to release the survival-type energy held in the body after traumatic or stressful experiences, supporting restoration of nervous-system balance, emotional regulation and long-term resilience. She brings sensitivity to both shock and developmental trauma and to how early life stress can impact the nervous system and contribute to persistent physical symptoms. JEMS movement training complements these approaches to bring a truly holistic way of working.
Susannah has a particular interest in TMJ (jaw) and face pain. She combines her physiotherapy expertise with SE and SIRPA principles to address not just the joint or muscle, but the emotional, neural and behavioural contributors to ongoing dysfunction.
Her approach is to help people not just manage pain or dysfunction, but to recover wellbeing, resilience and joy in movement.
My job is endlessly interesting and hugely satisfying. I enjoy the challenge of putting together the pieces of the jigsaw to work out the 'driver' of the problem and what to do about it
