As physiotherapy is usually carried out in close contact with patients, we have a system to reduce the risk of potential transmission of COVID-19 as much as possible.  This is based on the most up to date information and guidance issued by the government.

COVID-19 Health Screening Questionnaire

If you are new to us at Active Now Physiotherapy, we will email you a New Patient Information Form to complete before your appointment.  This will ask for information such as your past medical history and GP details.

In the 24 hours before each face-to-face appointment, we will send you a Covid screening email to check that you are well.  It is very important that you complete this as honestly and accurately as you can.  If there is any doubt, we will cancel the appointment and rearrange, and there will be no cancellation charge.

Appointments – Face-to-Face or Telehealth?

Most of our patients choose to attend the clinic for face-to-face appointments.  If you would prefer a telehealth appointment on zoom, this can be arranged.

Some people like a blend of face-to-face and zoom appointments, as these can work well around work commitments or if  you would be travelling some distance to visit us.

We’ve learnt during the lockdowns, that zoom appointments can be very effective, but recommend that your device has a camera and a microphone.  A tablet, laptop or desk top computer works best for these, as a mobile phone screen is too small.

Face to Face Appointments Procedure:

  • A New Patient Form will be emailed to you if it your first time attending. Please complete this and email it back ahead of your appointment.

  • You will also receive a COVID symptom screening email in the 24 hours before your appointment asking you to confirm that you are well.  If you are unwell, we will re-book your appointment for another time.

  • Please wait in your car until asked to come in by the physiotherapist.  Due to infection control measures, there is no waiting room or toilet available.

  • You will be asked to use hand sanitiser gel, and you will be given a surgical mask to wear whilst in the clinic.

  • Please only bring essential items with you – avoid bags / coats / scarves etc.

  • To reduce covid transmission risk, please attend alone.  A parent will need to accompany any child under 16.  You may bring a chaperone if pre-arranged.  Any chaperone will also need to complete the COVID-19 screening form.

  • Where possible, a window will be left open for ventilation.

  • You will be asked to sit in a chair that is at least 2 metres away from the physiotherapist, and she will maintain social distancing where possible to reduce potential exposure.

  • Your physiotherapist will wear gloves, and may also wear an apron, surgical mask and visor.

  • The clinic will be cleaned thoroughly between patients in line with government guidelines for infection control.

  • Payment will be taken using a contactless system with a debit or credit card or you may be emailed an invoice to pay online.

  • You will be asked to use hand gel again as you leave.
